CSAT PARTICIPATES IN ALL-PARTY CONFERENCE TO BUILD EFFECTIVE PARTIES IN MALAWI

In an effort to help building strong governing systems, including political parties in Malawi, we were honoured to participate in the 2023 All-Party Conference organized by the International Republican Institute (IRI) at Bingu International Convention Center (BICC) in Lilongwe on 18th and 19th January 2023.

The conference, held under the theme “How To Build Effective Parties for Malawi’s Democracy”, presented a great opportunity for Malawi’s political parties represented in the National Assembly to reflect on democratic principles which are key in political governance.

Our Executive Director Willy Kambwandira made a strong presentation on the significant topic bordering on Political Party Financing and How it Breeds Corruption and State Capture.

Kambwandira described the high-level discussion as of paramount importance to the country’s democracy as far as transparent and accountable political governance and party financing are concerned.
