We have a national accountability toll free line 3056 where citizens and communities report complaints bordering on corruption, abuse and mismanagement of public resources, substandard projects, and poor service delivery among others.
To build an open, accountable, and inclusive society in Malawi where citizens actively participate in governance and hold their leaders accountable
To empower grassroots and marginalized populations, as well as other CSOs, to demand transparency and accountability from duty bearers, thereby improving service delivery and governance in Malawi.
Malawi faces persistent challenges related to governance, transparency, and accountability. These issues undermine service delivery, especially in marginalized and underserved communities.
Despite efforts to address corruption and promote good governance, there remains a gap in the capacity of grassroots organizations and citizens to demand accountability and transparency from duty bearers.
The Centre for Social Accountability and Transparency (CSAT) was established in July 2018 to bridge this gap by empowering citizens and civil society organizations (CSOs) to actively participate in governance processes, advocate for transparency, and hold public officials accountable for their actions.
CSAT envisions a Malawi where all citizens have the knowledge, capacity, and platforms needed to demand accountability, leading to improved public service delivery and a more just society.
